In a peaceful, secluded valley on the outskirts of Ilfracombe and convenient for Woolacombe, this splendid 18th-century country house is surrounded by gardens, woodland and streams.
In a quiet location, Score Valley Country House is one mile (1. six km) from Ilfracombe; a 5-minute drive or a pleasant 20-minute walk through Bicclescombe Park to the High Street. Hidden from the road in its own valley behind a band of tall trees, the location makes it a great base from which to explore the vast sandy beaches of North Devon's golden coast or the wonders of Exmoor. The attractive, tranquil grounds surround the hotel's car park, which is free for guests. All of the spacious and comfortable rooms are individually furnished and equipped with all the necessary comforts and facilities. Score Valley Country House takes great pride in its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and locally sourced home-cooked food.

All double en suites have a comfortable king size bed TV and tea and coffee making facilities. One room has a roll top bath the other en suites have shower facilities. A full English breakfast or daily option cooked to order is included in the tariff. We are happy to take one small to medium dog in Rooms 5 and 7. A charge of ?5 per night will be applied. We regret we prefer not to take dogs on Rooms 2 and 6 Room 2 is on the first floor and the other three are located on the second floor of the hotel. Barnstaple - Road: When coming from Barnstaple follow the A361 to Ilfracombe. Approaching Ilfracombe the hotel is located just off of the A361 one mile from Mullacott Cross Roundabout. As you come down the hill from Mullacott just after the 40mph limit sign you will see our first sign on the right. After this there is a lay by on the left hand side. Around the next bend after the lay by you will see our second sign where there is an immediate sharp hairpin turn on the right to enter the lane leading to the hotel Ilfracombe - Road: If coming from the centre of Ilfracombe follow the signs for A361 Barnstaple. As you proceed up the hill leaving the outskirts of Ilfracombe the lane to the hotel is on the left immediately after the second 40mph speed sign.
